Virtual Engagement: How to Create Participatory Virtual Experiences that Keep your Donors Engaged in Times of Crisis

May 7, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Join us for a hands-on training where you will learn how to create participatory virtual experiences for your supporters.
Worried that the cancellation of your in-person experiences (events, meetings, tours, performances, and trips) will lead to lost donations and connections?
Wondering what else to do besides update your donors and ask for money?
COVID-19 is creating an urgent need for human connection in a time when virtual experiences are the only option – and connection is only created through participation.  It’s time to dial up your virtual engagement strategy and steward those critical supporters through participatory experiences.
During This Nonprofit Webinar You Will Learn:

  • How to design a participatory virtual experience
  • How to properly utilize participatory virtual experiences to achieve your goals
  • How to transfer the participatory elements of in-person experience to a virtual one
  • How to market participatory virtual experiences to your audience
  • How to assess your tech needs for participatory virtual experiences
  • How to be an excellent virtual facilitator

You’ll Get:

  1. The Webinar Slides
  2. The Webinar Recording

This is NOT about creating virtual content like blog posts and videos that get lost in the noise. This is about creating virtual experiences that invite your supporters to engage directly with your team.
This is also NOT about investing in expensive software or learning an entirely new platform. This is about using the resources you have to enhance participation in your virtual experiences and engage those supporters and volunteers whose time, talent, and treasure is needed most.
By the end of this 60-minute webinar you will walk away with ideas for how to use participatory virtual experiences in your donor engagement strategy, and have the exact tips and tools to make those experiences participatory.
Caliopy is specifically qualified to teach this webinar because:

  1. She has consulted many organizations whose supporters can’t experience the mission firsthand (humanitarian aid and environmental conservation groups among them) in developing robust virtual experiences.
  2. She has helped foundations and nonprofits create compelling participatory virtual site-visits.
  3. She is actively working with organizations in the COVID-19 era to transform their in-person experiences (events, meetings, tours, performances, and trips) to virtual experiences.
  4. She is a practitioner as well as a scholar, who studies how participatory experiences change people. She makes the best research in social psychology and anthropology immediately actionable and applicable to your nonprofit.

About Your Topic Expert:
Caliopy Glaros helps organizations transform their donor engagement strategies into catalysts for positive social change. As a consultant for Philanthropy without Borders, she works with organizations to create impactful virtual and in-person opportunities for donors to connect directly to the programs they support. After years of consulting nonprofits whose donors have limited in-person access to the mission-related work (such as humanitarian aid and environmental conservation groups), she developed tools and strategies to help them create virtual experiences that enhance participation and bring donors closer to the mission. In addition to her extensive research, writing, and speaking, she provides group training, individual coaching, and project consulting on mass market communications, one-on-one stewardship, events, site-visits, tours, and travel programs.
