About the Workshop: The Call to Courageous Leadership in Nonprofits

What is your call to courage? Find the answer to this question and more at this interactive 2.5 hour workshop with Dare to Lead certified facilitator, Julie Boll.  Julie is passionate about helping nonprofits learn the skills, practices and tools needed to support brave leadership and build more courageous cultures. Based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown, Dare to Lead™ is an empirically based courage-building program designed to be facilitated by organizational development professionals. Brené is a research professor at the University of Houston where she holds the Huffington Foundation – Brené Brown Endowed Chair at The Graduate College of Social Work. She has spent the past two decades studying courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy, and most recently completed a seven-year study on courageous leadership. She is the author of five #1 New York Times bestsellers: The Gifts of Imperfection, Daring Greatly,Rising Strong, Braving the Wilderness, and Dare to Lead, which also debuted at #1 on The Wall Street Journal and Publisher’s Weekly list. The most significant finding from Brené’s latest research is that courage is a collection of four skill sets that are teachable, measurable, and observable. Join us to learn more about these skill sets and start your journey to more courageous leadership and braver cultures.

Session Learning Objectives: Participants will learn that daring leadership requires for sets of skills that can be learned: rumbling with vulnerability, living into our values, braving trust, and learning to rise; Participants will begin practicing how to ask for what you need, set boundaries, and reach out for support; Participants will determine their call to courage as a leader.
