Nonprofit Sustainability
Prerequisite: nonprofit board presidents/executive directors, board members, nonprofit senior leadership
Many parts of an organization must contribute to sustainability practices in order to create the fiscal stability need to accomplish its mission. This workshop will present a variety of best practices and assessment tools to help you identify strategic decisions that can be undertaken by management and the board to strengthen your organization’s sustainability.
During this session learn –
- Available assessment tools to assist with evaluating the organization, its programs, and its capacity
- The importance of an organization’s operating reserves and effective investment management of these funds
- Effective budgeting and financial reporting techniques to assist with organizational oversight and strategic planning
About the Presenters: Amy Altholz and Mary Kay Lofgren
Amy Altholz is Partner-in-Charge of RubinBrown’s Not-For-Profit Services Group and a Partner in the Assurance Services Group. Her experience with a variety of not-for-profit clients, which spans more than 16 years, provides her valuable insight into the industry’s best practices. Amy has been recipient of industry awards and is an Adjunct Accounting Faculty at Washington University.
Mary Kay Lofgren is Vice Chair of RubinBrown’s Not-For-Profit Services Group and a Partner in the Assurance Services Group. She primarily serves clients in the nonprofit and public sector industries. Mary Kay has more than 20 years of experience working on assurance engagements in these industries, as well as Uniform Guidance (A-133) single audits. She frequently speaks about a variety of not-for-profit organization topics.
