Knock Their Socks Off – Adult Presentation Techniques

September 23, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

$75

Friday, Sept. 23, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. #92 JC Penney Conference Center on the UMSL north campus
Most nonprofits deal with adult volunteers, and nonprofit trainers and staff know that teaching adults is much different than teaching children. Adults have certain expectations and learning styles that need to be utilized in order for them to retain the information. As an adult educator, creating presentations, training and facilitating becomes much more intricate as our audiences mature.
Come to this class to learn and practice the following:
Adult Learning Techniques:

  • Different types of learning styles and how to cater to each one
  • The leaders 3 roles in front of the room
  • How to successfully handle difficult participants
  • Gaining credibility with your participants
  • How to immediately grab your audience’s attention
  • The types of questions you should be asking your attendees to ensure understanding

Public Speaking Techniques:

  • How to look confident (even when you’re not)
  • The effect that colors/appearance have on your audience
  • The importance of body language
  • How to use your voice to make an impact
  • How to create visuals that compliment, not take away from, your presentation
  • How to properly interact with your audience
