Most nonprofits deal with adult volunteers, and nonprofit trainers and staff know that teaching adults is much different than teaching children. Adults have certain expectations and learning styles that need to be utilized in order for them to retain the information. As an adult educator, creating presentations, training and facilitating becomes much more intricate as our audiences mature.

This course will qualify for 6 hours of credit toward the Chancellor’s Certificate in Volunteer Management. In order to obtain this noncredit certificate, individuals must enroll in, and complete, 16 or more hours of training in classes and/or events that are produced as part of the collaboration between MVMA and the NPML program.
