DESCRIPTION:Join us for a hands-on training where you will learn how to create participatory virtual experiences for your supporters.\nWorried that the cancellation of your in-person experiences (events\, meetings\, tours\, performances\, and trips) will lead to lost donations and connections?\nWondering what else to do besides update your donors and ask for money?\nCOVID-19 is creating an urgent need for human connection in a time when virtual experiences are the only option – and connection is only created through participation.  It’s time to dial up your virtual engagement strategy and steward those critical supporters through participatory experiences. \nDuring This Nonprofit Webinar You Will Learn: \n\nHow to design a participatory virtual experience\nHow to properly utilize participatory virtual experiences to achieve your goals\nHow to transfer the participatory elements of in-person experience to a virtual one\nHow to market participatory virtual experiences to your audience\nHow to assess your tech needs for participatory virtual experiences\nHow to be an excellent virtual facilitator\n\nYou’ll Get: \n\nThe Webinar Slides\nThe Webinar Recording\n\nThis is NOT about creating virtual content like blog posts and videos that get lost in the noise. This is about creating virtual experiences that invite your supporters to engage directly with your team.\nThis is also NOT about investing in expensive software or learning an entirely new platform. This is about using the resources you have to enhance participation in your virtual experiences and engage those supporters and volunteers whose time\, talent\, and treasure is needed most.\nBy the end of this 60-minute webinar you will walk away with ideas for how to use participatory virtual experiences in your donor engagement strategy\, and have the exact tips and tools to make those experiences participatory.\nCaliopy is specifically qualified to teach this webinar because: \n\nShe has consulted many organizations whose supporters can’t experience the mission firsthand (humanitarian aid and environmental conservation groups among them) in developing robust virtual experiences.\nShe has helped foundations and nonprofits create compelling participatory virtual site-visits.\nShe is actively working with organizations in the COVID-19 era to transform their in-person experiences (events\, meetings\, tours\, performances\, and trips) to virtual experiences.\nShe is a practitioner as well as a scholar\, who studies how participatory experiences change people. She makes the best research in social psychology and anthropology immediately actionable and applicable to your nonprofit.\n\nAbout Your Topic Expert:\nCaliopy Glaros helps organizations transform their donor engagement strategies into catalysts for positive social change. As a consultant for Philanthropy without Borders\, she works with organizations to create impactful virtual and in-person opportunities for donors to connect directly to the programs they support. After years of consulting nonprofits whose donors have limited in-person access to the mission-related work (such as humanitarian aid and environmental conservation groups)\, she developed tools and strategies to help them create virtual experiences that enhance participation and bring donors closer to the mission. In addition to her extensive research\, writing\, and speaking\, she provides group training\, individual coaching\, and project consulting on mass market communications\, one-on-one stewardship\, events\, site-visits\, tours\, and travel programs. Caliopy has an academic background in Anthropology and Adult Learning\, is a certified trainer in Intercultural Communication\, and the Inclusion\, Diversity\, Equity\, Access (IDEA) Chair of the Oregon and SW Washington Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.\nIf You Register and Cannot Attend\, You Will Get the Webinar Recording & Slides

SUMMARY:Don’t Say I Didn’t Warn You – The Pragmatist’s Guide to Successful Special Events
DESCRIPTION:AFP Global knows times are tough\, but you still need to stay at the top of your fundraising game. That’s why registration fees have been waived for the next three webinars for all members! Not an AFP member yet? You can join here: https://afpglobal.org/join\nSpecial events have long been synonymous with fundraising and as a result\, every fundraiser has a story of cold food\, missing golf balls\, no-show volunteers\, and the $200 pot of hotel coffee. We also know that fundraising events\, on average\, have one of the lower net profit factors and yet\, they are often the go-to solution in a financial pinch. It is essential that every fundraiser understand the value special events can play within their organization\, as well as the importance of setting appropriate financial\, time management and resource expectations. In this session we will discuss this love-hate relationship\, as well as review the cornerstone elements of successful events\, including how to define success\, knowing when to move on and setting pragmatic boundaries for the future.

SUMMARY:Building a Workplace Culture of Impact and Enjoyment: How to Balance Our Work and Engage the Team
DESCRIPTION:Having a culture of both impact and enjoyment is no easy task. We know we have to start by setting goals and recognizing achievements. From there though\, we can’t have an enjoyable workplace simply by using the word “fun.” Fun committees and fun days are just a small part of building the right culture. We have to have meetings employees look forward to\, and be willing to cut loose or\, more importantly\, let employees cut loose in their own way and look for ways to get out of the office – together. But then we must balance this against productivity and achievable outcomes. Learn how to begin fostering this kind of organizational culture in this 2 hour session.\nInstructor Chris Martinez has worked for the past 12 years in the non-profit sector\, first as a national program director for the award winning Mission Continues and later in fund development for multiple agencies. He was responsible for both startups and large established organizations with budgets over $100 MM. As a fundraiser\, program expert and consultant\, Chris has led dozens of strategic planning sessions\, has served as an Executive Director and national trainer for large healthcare nonprofits\, and has spoken at multiple academic institutions\, including Georgetown University. Chris has served on multiple nonprofit boards and currently provides pro-bono services to the Ready by 21 initiative and United Way\, as a member of the Performance Improvement team.

SUMMARY:Teamwork: Creating and Sustaining Collaborative Working Relationships
DESCRIPTION:Teamwork has become a buzz word in all professional worlds.  The importance of developing and sustaining collective team projects and activities drives the work in the nonprofit world.  Often we believe we are forging ahead as a team\, until it’s time to access our work or evaluate our success and that is when we begin to understand the difference between a team and a staff of “independent dynamic agents”.  The focus of this workshop will be the work of a team leader in fostering and sustaining a true team\, assessing our perceptions versus the reality of teamwork\, and acquiring the skill set to develop\, evaluate and implement a team approach in work. \nAbout the Presenter:  Trent Ball\nTrent Ball is Assistant Vice President for Academic Diversity and Outreach at Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) and provides leadership and management of the Academic Support Centers (ASCs). Ball is the Past Board Chair for the Council for Opportunity in Education (COE)\, Past President of The Educational Opportunity Association (EOA) and Past President of MO-KAN-NE.
