SUMMARY:Software Selection 101
DESCRIPTION:About the Workshop: \nSelecting Software 101 provides a 7 step process to successfully select and implement new software at a non-profit.  Participants will learn how to do each step of the process including identifying who to involve\, how to identify what the requirements are\, how to compare options\, and how to successfully implement or migrate to a new software solution.  Lessons learned about how to avoid being derailed\, ending up with software that is not used\, and being too optimistic on the effort needed will be shared.  While many of the examples involve donor management and member management systems as well as online marketing software\, these steps can apply to any type of software solution.\nParticipants do not need to have any technology experience. Content is intended for those with limited to no experience with selecting and implementing software.\nAbout the Presenter: Amy Conard\nAmy Conard assists non-profits to create technology roadmaps\, make software selection decisions\, and implement software into their organizations.  Amy helps these organizations leverage technology to become more efficient and effective so they can spend more time on their mission.\nAmy has worked in Information Technology for almost 30 years\, primarily in large corporate environments and with both software development and implementation of packaged software.  Areas of focus include data and analytics\, security and access control\, and business to business systems.  A year and a half ago\, she transitioned to focus on supporting non-profits with their technology and software needs.  She is on the Board of Directors and Chair of the Technology Committee for Spirit of St. Louis Women’s Fund and regularly volunteers with several non-profits.
