SUMMARY:Crafting Narratives that will Set Your Grant Application Apart: Sustainability
DESCRIPTION:About the Workshop: \nFew grant application questions receive more groans from grant writers than “sustainability” questions. The tendency is to write a statement about how your organization will continue to diversify your fundraising strategy while stewarding existing donors. This response could be copied and pasted into every grant proposal written by just about every nonprofit organization across the country\, but it does not help you get the grant.\nThis session will teach you new ways to think about sustainability in programs and organizations and respond to sustainability grant proposal prompts in a way that will set you apart from other applicants.  \nAbout the Presenter: Fielding Jezreel\nFielding Jezreel specializes in helping nonprofits plan and apply for federal grants. Using her passion for program planning\, Fielding helps organizations streamline their grant funding strategy and pursue federal and other nationally competed grants. She also coaches early career grant writers.\nFielding has worked in the grants field since 2013 and has raised over $40 million for nonprofits and government agencies. She has a Master of Social Work degree from the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis. She served three years on the board of the St. Louis Chapter of the Grant Professionals Association and continues to support the Programs Committee to develop high quality professional development opportunities for grant professionals.

SUMMARY:Bring Your Own Grants - Peer Review
DESCRIPTION:Does your grant narrative feel stale? Have your read your needs statement so many times you can’t objectively evaluate its impact? Have you been using the same language to describe your program for the last five years? Many grant professionals work in offices where they are the only grant writer. We all need someone to review our work and who better than other grant professionals? In this session\, participants will gain valuable feedback from other grant professionals while also having the opportunity to hone their grant review skills. \nParticipants are asked to bring three copies of a sample grant of no more than three pages that includes the funder’s prompts for selected excerpts. Review criteria will be provided at the session to guide peer review.

SUMMARY:Crafting Narratives The Will Set Your Grant Application Apart: Sustainability
DESCRIPTION:Few grant application questions receive more groans from grant writers than “sustainability” questions. The tendency is to write a statement about how your organization will continue to diversify your fundraising strategy while stewarding existing donors. This response could be copied and pasted into every grant proposal written by just about every nonprofit organization across the country\, but it does not help you get the grant.\nThis session will teach you new ways to think about sustainability and respond to sustainability prompts in a way that will set you apart from other applicants.\nAbout the Presenter: Fielding Jezreel\nFielding Jezreel specializes in helping nonprofits plan and apply for federal grants. Using her passion for program planning\, Fielding helps organizations streamline their grant funding strategy; pursue federal and other nationally competed grants; and provides one-on-one coaching to new grant writers.\nFielding has worked in the grants field since 2013 and has raised over $35 million for nonprofits. She has a Master of Social Work degree from the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis where she now teaches grant writing. She served three years on the board of the St. Louis Chapter of the Grant Professionals Association and continues to support the Programs Committee to develop high quality professional development opportunities for grant professionals.
