SUMMARY:Remote Management: Supporting Team Engagement and Inclusion
DESCRIPTION:Remote Management: Supporting Team Engagement and Inclusion \n\n\nAbout the Workshop:  \nRemote work and remote management are now commonplace in the nonprofit space\, and we have moved beyond the “return to work” mindset\, and our new normal is often a hybrid model of remote and in-person work or a fully remote workplace.  Now we are facing the challenge of assuring that our space remains engaging and inclusive while recognizing that this may be year three of “working from home” and we need to discuss the impact on retention and involvement for everyone involved.  This workshop will focus on working with and supporting remote working teams\, addressing the hybrid model of work and strategies we can use to keep everyone (including ourselves) engaged and included will we navigate and update today’s remote management skills. \nThis is a virtual workshop. \n  \nAbout the Presenter: \nTrent Ball serves as the inaugural Senior Director\, Postsecondary Equity and Attainment\, for the Missouri College and Career Attainment Network (MOCAN). MOCAN exists to ensure Missouri students who could most benefit from education beyond high school have what they need to earn a credential leading to a rewarding career. MOCAN is built on the success of two prior initiatives: Missouri College Access Network and St. Louis Graduates. MOCAN is a network of institutions\, organizations\, and professionals committed to greater equity in college and career access\, affordability\, and completion. By working for change at the institutional and systems levels\, MOCAN aspires to create a postsecondary education system where outcomes are no longer predictable by race or socio-economic status.  \nAs Senior Director\, Mr. Ball leads MOCAN’s postsecondary attainment strategy including the Postsecondary Equity Network (PEN)\, as well as the organization’s research agenda and advocacy work. Prior to joining MOCAN\, Trent retired from Southeast Missouri State University where he served as Associate Provost and provided leadership and management of the Academic Support Centers\, including Educational Access Programs\, Learning Assistance Programs\, and the TRIO Programs (McNair Scholars and Student Support Services). \n\nRegister Now!

SUMMARY:Teamwork: Creating and Sustaining Collaborative Working Relationships
DESCRIPTION:About the Workshop:  \nTeamwork has become a buzz word in all professional worlds.  The importance of developing and sustaining collective team projects and activities drives the work in the nonprofit world.  Often we believe we are forging ahead as a team\, until it’s time to access our work or evaluate our success and that is when we begin to understand the difference between a team and a staff of “independent dynamic agents”.  The focus of this workshop will be the work of a team leader in fostering and sustaining a true team\, assessing our perceptions versus the reality of teamwork\, and acquiring the skill set to develop\, evaluate and implement a team approach in work. \nThis is an in-person workshop in St. Louis\, MO. \n  \n About the Presenter: Trent Ball \nTrent Ball serves as the inaugural Senior Director\, Postsecondary Equity and Attainment\, for the Missouri College and Career Attainment Network (MOCAN).
