Each organization will receive a capacity assessment and a program designed specifically for them which will include free consulting, training, and peer mentoring. Areas addressed can include board work, fundraising, leadership development, human resources, marketing, volunteer coordination, fiscal management, evaluation, collaboration, and administrative support.

Program participants will have access to…


NSC Learning Opportunities

NSC will work with each organization to outline a workshop plan for their staff. Each organization will have access to 12 NSC learning opportunities. This includes workshops and learning labs. The organizations can send up to 2 attendees to each learning opportunity.

Executive Director Round Table

Each accepted organization will have access to a monthly Executive Director round table. Attendance at the round tables is a program requirement.

Customized Program Plan

NSC will provide a customized program plan based on the organization’s assessment results. Executive Directors and core leadership staff are invited to attend sessions.



St. Louis Metro Region Scholarship Application Process

The Network for Strong Communities, in partnership with the Nina Needleman Charitable Fund, offers a year-long, no-cost comprehensive capacity building program for 10 organizations in the St. Louis region.

Qualified candidates will:

  • Have a 501(c)3 status
  • Have an organizational budget within the range of $250,000 and $1,000,000 (applicants outside of this range will be accepted by invitation only)
  • Organization has been established for a minimum of 3 years
  • Applications will not be accepted from schools or houses of worship
  • Eligible organizations should be located in the St. Louis metro area
  • Agree to meet program participation requirements which are as follows:
    • Complete assessment
    • Complete initial program meeting and check-in meetings
    • Attend a minimum of 6 out of 12 workshops and/or learning labs
    • Attend a minimum of 9 out of 12 ED round table meetings
    • Have a minimum of two participating staff or board members. This must include an Executive Director.
  • Applications will be accepted through August 1, 2024.
  • Applications not submitted through the link above and any questions should be directed to Olivia Snare.

Community Foundation of the Ozarks Agency Partners Scholarship Application Process

10 qualified organizations will be chosen for the program. Qualified candidates will:

  • Nonprofit agency partners of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks are eligible to apply
  • Have a 501(c)3 status
  • Organization has been established for a minimum of 3 years
  • Agree to meet program participation requirements which are as follows:
    • Complete assessment
    • Complete initial program meeting and check-in meetings
    • Attend a minimum of 6 out of 12 workshops and/or learning labs
    • Attend a minimum of 9 out of 12 ED round table meetings
    • Have a minimum of two participating staff or board members. This must include an Executive Director.
  • Applications will be accepted through January 10, 2024.
  • Applications not submitted through the link above and any questions should be directed to learn@nscnow.org.
