Grant Writing Academy (New Cohort Kickoff)

Workshop: Grant Writing Academy in Partnership with the Darr Foundation
Join us for a grant writing course that will be delivered in a hybrid format where participants complete part of their work online and part of it in person over the next six months for hands-on application-based learning.

Content provided by The Darr Foundation will include:

  • Session One: Getting Started with Grants, 9/25/24 (Virtual)
  • Session Two: Bulletproof Program Design, 10/30/24 (In-person)
  • Session Three: Deep Dive into Data, 11/20/24 (In-person)
  • Session Four: Huge Need + Well Written Narrative = Award! 12/18/24 (In-person)
  • Session Five: Budget Buildout, 1/22/25 (Virtual)
  • Session Six: Evaluation Doesn’t Have to Be a Dirty Word, 2/26/25 (In-person)
  • Session Seven: ALL Together Now! 3/26/25 (Hybrid)

Participants do not need to have any grant writing experience.

 

This course will be delivered in a hybrid format with in-person and virtual sessions. All sessions are from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.

About the Academy Instructor

Heather Zoromski is a lifelong resident of southwest Missouri and has 19 years of experience in nonprofit administration, grant writing and grantmaking. Before coming to the Darr Family Foundation, she served as grants administrator for Skaggs Foundation in Branson and as executive director for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals of CoxHealth in Springfield. She holds a bachelor’s degree in child and family development, and a master’s in public health, both from Missouri State University, as well as a certification in grant writing from the American Grant Writer’s Association. Along with her work at the Darr Family Foundation, she is an adjunct instructor for Evangel University in the College of Business and the College of Adult and Graduate Studies. She serves on the boards of the Kyle Bruton Foundation, Elevate Branson and Nixa Public Schools.
