Elements of a High Quality Grant Proposal

Funding is tight, competition is fierce. Agencies need to balance efficient and effective writing without compromising quality. One point lost can absolutely make the difference between an award notice or rejection letter. Crafting a high-quality, comprehensive proposal will help your agency get the serious consideration it needs and deserves.
This training session will take participants through the sections/elements of a proposal and identify strategies for tailoring the proposal to the funders’ mission and techniques for keeping the language current and compelling for your agency.

  • Identify and effectively write the key components of a grant proposal  
  • Ensure alignment and consistency across each component
  • Address proposal guidelines
  • Define specific, measurable outcomes
  • Ensure budget alignment with narrative
  • Maximize point potential and write a winning proposal that stands above the competition

About the Presenter: Tracey Diefenbach, GPC
Tracey Diefenbach serves as the Assistant Director at Assel Grant Services, an industry-leading consulting firm, specializing in grant research, proposal creation and application and securing more than $191 million in grant funding since 2007. Tracey has over 16 years of experience in grant writing and research and has secured over $39 million in grant funding since 2005 through federal, state, foundation, and corporate grants. She is a current program committee member for the Grant Professionals Association (GPA)-St. Louis Chapter and a GPA Approved Trainer. Tracey manages a training portfolio on topics including managing up, tools and processes in grant efficiency, laying the foundation for competitive grants, and Motivational Interviewing for grants.
